About Dr. Paul McDonough MD

While working toward his doctorate in medicine from the University of California, Los Angeles, Paul W. McDonough, MD, gained admittance to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and won a William P. Longmire Medal as the top graduating student in the area of surgery. Board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a member of the North American Spine Society and the Texas Orthopaedic Association, Paul W. McDonough, MD, has treated patients at his west-central Texas practice, Orthopedic Associates of Abilene, since 2001.

In addition to providing direct care to patients, Dr. Paul McDonough advances knowledge in his field as a researcher and writer. In this capacity, he has authored articles and abstracts published in such peer-reviewed journals as Spine, the Journal of Spinal Disorders, and the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics. Further, Dr. McDonough has delivered presentations to meetings of professional organizations like the Cervical Spine Research Society and the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine.
